Ukrainian “Stagnarchy” Buries the Eastern Partnership As We Know It
The recent controversy between the EU and Ukraine over jailing of Yulia Tymoshenko, which prevented both sides from the signature of the Association Agreement, marks the end of the Eastern Partnership (EaP) as we know it. It poses a specific challenge to the V4 countries since the EaP is declared to be the top priority of V4 regional cooperation, and Ukraine is the direct neighbour of the three of them. If the EU fails to reset the EaP, the V4 countries will lose an important tool to promote their interests vis-à-vis Ukraine.
